Cindy removed the headset, donning a mischievous smile. She loved seeing the frightened look on Emma’s face. The image of the brides in her mind’s eye, blood dripping from their mouths, onto their white dresses, was beautiful.
“Oh, that’s great,” Cindy said aloud, “This is going to be VERY useful.”
She heard the rumble of modified exhaust as the car she’d been waiting for approached her house. “There’s Travis.”
She set the headset down on her bedside table, stood, grabbed her jacket, tied it over her white skirt, and walked out of her room. She adjusted her hair, walking toward the front door.
Cindy waved at her parents, who were hanging there, blood drained, nearly dead, “Take care. Buh-bye.”
Cindy exited the house, not bothering to lock up.“No one’s messing with this house. My new best friends are a vampire and a werewolf.”
She opened the car door and sat down, smiling at Travis. He smiled back and leaned in for a kiss. She leaned in also, stopping his lips with her fingertip.
“Have you met with Vosco?” Cindy felt naughty mentioning another man.
Travis nodded, smiling as he moved her finger and gently kissed her. Cindy sensed something different about him. Unbridled energy. He felt like a ticking time bomb. Cindy pulled away, keeping her hand at the base of his neck.
“So we’re ready?”
Travis nodded, “Me and the girls stopped by the high school a while ago. Found many cheerleaders in the locker room.” He winked.
Cindy smiled, “Oh, that’s excellent. We have a small legion for our bidding?”
“We do.”
